About Our Staff
Stone Soup opened its doors in August 2001. It's a family affair which includes three
generations! Mickey, Jennifer and Jessica remain committed to providing a high quality
program in a positive, enriching, and nurturing environment. We realize the importance of early childhood development. Aside from raising our own children, between the three of us we have many years of experience working with and learning about young ones.
Philosophy
We take a "well-rounded" approach at Stone Soup. We offer an environment which stimulates growth in the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional areas of development. We believe it is important to foster each child's natural curiosity and love for learning by offering a fun, loving, and supportive environment in which to learn and grow. We respect each child as an individual and adapt our teaching to meet their varied ways of learning. We want every child to feel important and successful. We also want each child's culture to be validated as part of the Stone Soup community and do so by celebrating, as well as learning about, each other's cultures.
Program Description
Our program consists of both a toddler and preschool component. Although we do spend meal time and other parts of our day together., at group time we separate so that our centers, project and circle times are age-appropriate.
The children learn about their world through thematic units in which we incorporate literature, math, cooking, art, music, science, occasional field trips, and of course play! In addition. Jessica teaches Spanish and creative movement once a week. If you'd like to check out our place. Give us a call!
