The Association

The Santa Barbara Family Childcare Association, founded in 1977, is a support system for licensed family child care providers. We work hard to increase the Quality of programs, and professionalism of child care providers through interaction, support, continuing education and out reach to providers, parents and children. We also strive to be active in the greater childcare community. We work closely with the Children’s Resource and Referral Center, Santa Barbara Family Care Center., the Office of Early Care and Education, the Santa Barbara Association for the Education of Young Children, and our local Child Care Planning Council. Our commitment to families and children is based on the belief that family child care is a place where children can grow, learn and thrive with respect to individuality and the development of the whole child.

We are a non-profit 501-C Organization.

Monthly Meetings

Informal monthly support meetings give providers a change to get together support one another and share information. Complete make and take projects to be used in our child care programs, share great new children’s books and other relevant information of things happening in the greater child care community. We generally meet on the 3rd Thursday of the month but locations rotate. Contact any board member for information on the time and place of upcoming meetings.
